With the introduction of the toolbar and toolbar button controls, new flexible methods for displaying information throughout the script run are available. This information is for customer's running legacy versions of the application only.
Menu text controls are very similar to Text Labels in that you can enter system and script variables. The difference is that when the script is running, the text remains at the top of the screen with other menu items, even if the Agent scrolls down:

Note that the Menu Text control only loads once as it is outside of the main script page. As such, use of variables is limited. It is perfectly acceptable to use variables that will not change, e.g., var_csCustomerName, but variables included in the menu text control will not be updated during the script run.
