XML File Reports will produce an XML encoded file with the same delivery options included with other report types. When fields are added to the report, the field name will take on the data tag, and the field data will be included as the report data.
Please note:
A 'New Line' special field is required in the report data to close the each session (adding the </Session> tag). If this field is not added, the End Session tag will not be included in the report, and the XML produced will be invalid.
When selected from the report type dropdown, additional XML specific options appear at the foot of the Report Options panel. The XML specific options include 3 standard container tags, Custom Report Element, Custom Container Tag and Custom Session Container Tag.
The tags define the basic elements of the report output:
- 'Custom Report Element' defines the beginning and end of the entire report (defaults to 'Report')
- 'Customer Container Tag' defines the beginning and end of all calls in the report (defaults to 'Sessions')
- 'Custom Session Container Tag' defines the individual calls (defaults to 'Session')
These can be replaced with defined values allowing full customisation of the tags which are passed by CallScripter.
Please note:
Field name tags can be customised in the 'Report Fields' tab of the Report Designer, under 'Field Heading'.
